All Bark, No Bite
Finally, a holiday treat with all of the sweet and none of the sour.
And just in time, because science has finally confirmed what we’ve always known to be true--seasonal weight gain is real. According to a recent Cornell study, most people start packing on the pounds in October… and don’t shed them until Easter. And you thought you were safe until Thanksgiving.
Luckily we’re here to help. This seasonal product blends the oils of peppermint and vanilla to recreate the smell of a delicious candy cane, without any of the calories. Spray those sugar cravings away!
And for those who do plan on letting loose this season, the scent of peppermint is a well-known stomach soother. A couple of spritzes will have you back to snarfing down holiday treats in no time.
Finally, peppermint is also said to improve cognition, helping you preserve treasured holiday memories for a lifetime. And, if memories of your family gatherings are not so much “preserved” in your mind as they are seared, fear not. Peppermint oil improves alertness, so you’ll stay sharp on the lookout... just in case your senile great-Aunt Linda tries to stick the cat in the oven instead of the turkey again this year.
But, our real inspiration for this spray is a whimsical holiday legend about the origin of candy canes. The story goes that in 1670 a German choirmaster, sick of chatty children ruining his Nativity performances, asked a local candy master to make “sugar sticks” for the kids to suck on during the service (since muzzles did not seem in keeping with the holiday spirit I suppose).
In order to rationalize giving candy away to naughty children during church, the choirmaster requested the sticks have a “crook” at the end to remind the children of shepherds who visited baby Jesus, and be white in color to remind of the “sinless life of Our Savior.”
Perhaps the red was meant to encourage the children to consider possible consequences of continued misbehavior.
